We are implementing some big changes to DrugRun soon, please read this entire post carefully to understand what is happening to the server economy, redstone farms and drugs. We are working hard behind the scenes to implement all of these changes as soon as possible. Please understand that it's a lot of work for us and it may take up to a week, or two, until everything is ready.

Overview of upcoming changes
- Overal changes to reduce redstone usage on the server to a minimum
- Nerfed Pumpkins & Melon(seeds) to get rid of the massive automatic redstone farms everywhere.
- Buffed some drug prices that can't be automated using redstone.
- Buffed recipe prices & finalize Methylamine / Bluecrystal
- Added Cactus Green as a new type of drug
- Added Cacao Beans as a new type of drug
- New drugshop for Mobster & VIP/VIP+: 1.5x
- New drugshop for Godfather & Lord/King: 2.0x
- New drugshop for Minister & Emp/MVP: 2.5x

Why these changes?
The main reason for this is to bring down the usage of redstone on the server. Right now the server is overloaded at peak times and redstone ticks are taking up to 80% of the CPU resources, which is not good for the server.
In order to reduce Redstone tickcounts, any type of automatic farm that uses a lot of repeaters, clocks, or any redstone in general, will be nerfed down hard. We have decided that the time has come to move DrugRun to a more powerful, dedicated server.
Nothing will be reset and we will transfer the entire server to the new host. Nothing has to be
changed on your end, the server IP will remain mc.drugrun.net!

During the move, the server will be down for a couple of hours. The website will however stay online!

UPDATE 15 august 2016:
DrugRun is moving hosts again tonight at 22:00 GMT +1. We have a new dedicated server that is a lot more powerful than the previous one. Downtime should not be longer than 1 hour unless we run into problems. The IP will remain mc.drugrun.net, however it may take up to 24 hours until the DNS is updated, in case it does not yet resolve for you; add mc2.drugrun.net.

UPDATE 11 august 2016:
The new dedicated server is not powerful enough to host DrugRun. We currently have a consumer grade Intel i7 4790k, which is simply not powerful enough to host DrugRun. The current CPU is slower and less efficient then the one we had on the previous host MCPH. We're currently looking into switching hosting provider again, to an actual dedicated server with a server-type (Xeon) CPU. When we have completed the switch the stability issues should've been fixed. More details will follow on this later. In order to keep the server TPS up with 40 people online, auto farms have been COMPLETELY disabled for the time being, chances are they will start working again when we have a proper dedicated server. Please read this post carefully if you own an automatic farm, or plan on making one. Large Automatic Farms that do not follow these guidelines, and keep triggering our anti lag mechanisms (React plugin), may eventually have its redstone removed by server staff to protect the servers stability.

What is a server-friendly auto farm and what is not?

Firstly, lets quickly go over what the difference is between a good (server-friendly) autofarm and a bad (laggy) autofarm. Without going too much into detail, some players have a fully functional automatic farm with about 52 rows each with 44 pistons per row. Each of these sections triggers about 10 seconds apart from the one before it, and therefore causes relatively little lag. Other farms however, act as one massive circuit, triggering hundreds if not thousands of pistons at a time, which is not good for the server. These farms activate the React plugin, which in turn freezes redstone and ends up making a lot of people angry. (It should be mentioned that BUD switch farms are also terrible and cause a lot of lag, but I don't believe anyone is using them since React breaks them and makes them very annoying to use).

Ok, now that we have outlined what the problem is and how to fix it, below you will find a quick little guide on how to make your farm lag less be server friendly. Keep in mind, your priority in doing this should be keeping the amount of pistons firing at any one time at or less than 50 to keep the TPS stable and happy.
